They are for use on locomotives and cars with standard coupler pockets (NEM 362) and a guide mechanism, as well as on locomotives and cars with a lower buffer height in accordance with NEM 303. These coupler heads are compatible with standard couplers (NEM 360).

72022 - Current-Conducting Close Couplers

Model: Operating close coupler with single-conductor electrical connection for lighted express train passenger cars. These couplers are also suitable for locomotives and cars with a lower buffer height in accordance with NEM 303. These couplers go with cars ready for their installation with car lengths of 26.4 cm / 10-3/8", 27 cm / 10-5/8", and 28.2 cm / 11-1/8" when installing 73400/73401 interior lighting. One car in the train consist needs a 73404, 73405, or 73406 pickup shoe.Contents: 2 close coupler heads for standard coupler pockets with contacts, 2 sets of contacts for coupler drawbars, 1 ground spring for the truck, 2 connecting wires, and installation instructions.Reliable operation connection with snap-in contacts. Coupling and uncoupling on the layout can be done manually. Coupling with regular close couplers without an electrical contact can also be done.

Model: This is for a close-coupled locomotive/car connection with a single-conductor current electricity transmission. This is suitable for use in the standard close coupler pocket of all "Donnerbchse" / "Thunder Box" passenger cars based on 4313, 4314, and 4315. This allows a single pickup shoe per lighted car consist for these cars.The package delivered from the factory includes, in addition to two current-conducting close coupler heads, the electrical transmission elements for installation of the guide mechanism. Coupling and uncoupling on the layout can be done manually. Package includes 2 close coupler heads and electrical transmission elements for installation in a car. Installation instructions included.
